Synopsis

The film, shot in the Kirov region, is about the current existence of Houses and Palaces of culture.

During Soviet times, Houses of culture symbolized success of the communist ideology, accessibility and massiveness of multi-national Soviet culture. Now they are needed mostly by their inhabitants - entertainment organizers, directors, chorus masters, choreographers and amateur performers.

The world recreated in the film is charming and flavorful, however, in the twenty-first century, it looks outdated, cumbersome, untimely. In the end comes out a documentary comedy, where people dance, sing, tell about themselves and their groups, but the picture doesn't get any brighter, sadness and grief are determinedly not weathered from the atmosphere of the movie and the Houses of culture.
